Practically 7 out of every 10 persons with a smartphone in Nigeria today has WhatsApp installed.

WhatsApp, is a social messaging platform acquired by Facebook for in 2014, and today is arguably the world’s fastest-growing communication app as of 2017 according to Statista.

Whatsapp have over 1.3 billion monthly active users.. what does this mean?? More 🤑🤑🤑🤑

If you think WhatsApp is limited to only sending text messages, you’re wrong!!

Today, people spend more time on WhatsApp than on their personal social media profiles.

 

In Nigeria WhatsApp is becoming more popular than Facebook. It has already replaced SMS and fast becoming our primary mode of communication.

While most users are more concerned about using WhatsApp for communication, it can also be leveraged as a marketing tool for small businesses both online and offline.

 

HOW TO SELL ON WHATSAPP

Although WhatsApp may pride itself on having “no ads, no games, and all that,” you sure can still use the service to sell your product or services.

1. WhatsApp Groups.

Whatsapp groups are a great place to promote your services or products. You

can form your own online sellers’ group or join one with an invite link. Think of

it as a networking platform where you can not only post links to your service or

product but also exchange business insights. To get started, you can create a

group for your business or join like-minded groups of buyers and sellers in your

community. But note don’t spam or post repeatedly in the same group before

they will think it’s a scam or you are a scammer, this won’t help your business.

 

Tip: Instead of telling them buy this or buy that, you can make it more personal. Personal in

the sense that you get them to save your contacts, introduce yourself, share something of

value to them, something free, maybe a class🤷 then this in turn builds trust. And someone

who trusts you can easily bring out his/her cash and hand it out to you.

 

2. WhatsApp Status.

Now you must have gotten a enough contacts on your contact list who are

eager to view your status and see what this person I just saved his/her contact is

all about.

WhatsApp Status allows users to share quick photos or videos that disappear

after a period of 24 hours. Your WhatsApp status automatically gets shared

with your contacts hence you can be sure of maximum impressions.

This is a great way to showcase the pictures of your products or quick demo of

how your product can benefit the user.

(Remember always try to sale something of value) Also don’t be all about business all the time or there would

get bored, switch things up a bit, be fun , be likeable and you’d see interested buyers will start buzzing you repeatedly to buy.

 

3. WhatsApp Broadcast.

This is great if you Want to send a personal message to everyone but don’t

want to copy and paste it multiple times.

Use WhatsApp Broadcast lists to send messages in bulk. Reach a big number

of people with just one feature. But don’t send broadcast message unless there

is need to, you don’t want to look desperate or pushy.

Lets move on.. to do this, create lists related to specific topics, then blast

one-way communications designed to increase engagement, much like you do

on Twitter. For example, include links or invitations in your messages, this will

be like an update or reminder of something you once offered maybe a promo or something like that.

 

4. Cold Calling with WhatsApp Call.

This is basically making an unsolicited call to someone (prospective customer),

in an attempt to sell goods or services them.

WhatsApp has a call feature that allows you to make calls to anyone for free(use’s lil bit of data).

This can be a great way to follow up with some of your business leads, who

might have shown interest towards any of your products or services.

WhatsApp Call can also be used for customer support purposes allowing

customers to call in for free when they need to speak with someone on your team.

Reminder: Do not be too pushy with your prospects, Do not be boring with yours status And also remember to be nice to everyone either buying or not buying, there all can be your clients tomorrow.
